COUNSELING SERVICESEating Disorders & Body Image Counseling in Sioux Falls
Struggles with food and body image are rarely about food. They are about control, worth, and pain that deserves real care.
Whether it is restricting, bingeing, obsessive tracking, or a running inner commentary about your body that never lets up, you do not have to manage this alone, and you do not have to hit some imaginary threshold of “sick enough” before getting help. Krysta brings certification training in binge eating and chronic dieting challenges.
Is Any of This Familiar?
Binge Eating & Chronic Dieting
Another plan starts Monday. Control holds for a while, then the pendulum swings back and shame does the talking.
Food, Control & Anxiety
Meals come with rules and dread, and social plans get filtered through what food will be there.
Teen & Young Adult Eating Struggles
You have noticed the skipped meals or the new rules, and you are not sure whether to say something or how.
Body Image
The mirror gets the first word of your day and the last word of your night, and it is never kind.
Food Noise & Preoccupation
Thinking about eating, or not eating, takes up more of your mind than you would ever admit out loud.
Worth & Identity
Somewhere along the way, how you eat and how you look became the measure of whether you are okay.
Maybe this has been your quiet struggle for years, or maybe you are just starting to notice it in someone you love. Either way, it does not have to be named perfectly to be taken seriously.
Whole-Person Care, Body Included
You cannot think your way out of an eating struggle, because it is not only a thought problem. Krysta’s somatic and experiential approaches work with the body rather than against it, while getting to the root of what the eating pattern has been protecting you from.
And underneath the pattern sit deep stories about worth, control, and identity. You are uniquely and intentionally designed by God, and your worth was never up for negotiation. Care here starts from that truth, not from a number, and never from shame. Food is not the enemy in this work, and neither are you.
What Sessions Look Like
Gentle and unhurried. There is no food diary shoved across the table and no lecture waiting for you. The early work is understanding what the pattern has been doing for you and helping your body feel like a safe place to live again, at a pace you set. This is sensitive, collaborative work, and it is an honor to walk alongside you, and your care team when you have one, as you grow toward a healthier relationship with your body and yourself.
Sessions are available in person at the Sioux Falls office or online anywhere in South Dakota.
Common Questions About Eating & Body Image Counseling
-
Yes. Eating struggles thrive on the belief that you have to earn help. If food or body image takes up more of your mind than you want it to, that is reason enough for a conversation.
-
That is a fine place to start. You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to reach out, and “even just curious” counts. The first session is simply a conversation about where you are and what you are hoping for. If a different kind of support would serve you better, Krysta will say so and point you in the right direction.
-
No. Behavior advice alone does not heal an eating struggle. The work is understanding what the pattern has been doing for you, healing what is underneath it, and rebuilding a relationship with food and your body that can actually last.
You Are More Than This Struggle
You do not have to name this perfectly to reach out. Request an appointment and let the conversation start gently.
